James, registered financial consultant, has been in the financial services industry since 1997. He is a Philadelphia native, Christian, and an active community leader who takes pride in giving back. He work tirelessly educating his clients and the general public – specifically in the African-American community – about the strategies and importance of building wealth. His excitement and passion for financial literacy includes volunteering teaching evening adult education basic personal finance/wealth building courses – notably, “Sick of Being Broke” at Temple University (PASCEP) for the past 15 years and “Women, Wealth, & Wisdom” and “Social Security & Baby Boomers” at Mount Airy Learning Tree.
James has held financial consultant positions with some of the areas most notable financial firms here in Philadelphia and New York City. He created JRV Wealth Management Group, LLC to provide financial planning services in areas that are often neglected, underserved, and that lack competent financial professionals. His objective is to improve the financial intelligence and illiteracy that has plague much of society by instituting retirement planning seminars, lunch-n-learn workshops, webinars, and classes for those in the community.
James holds the FINRA Series 65 industry and life insurance licenses – in which he previously held the FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses. He is also a current advisory board member of the Advisor Network Summit, a member of the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, Inc. and other various business and networking organizations nationally and in Philadelphia. In addition, he currently serves on the board of Metamorphosis CDC and is former Board Chairman of Ready, Willing & Able Inc. in Philadelphia.
